5 New Artist to Watch this Summer

With the summer officially underway, it is time to introduce you to some new artist to vibe to as you enjoy Summer 2013. There are five underground artist that you are making a name for themselves, and you should expect to hear a lot of them whether it is on the radio or blogs.

5.) Vic Mensa

Formerly the frontman for a Chicago based group called Kids These Days, rapper Vic Mensa is on the rise. His song “Orange Soda” is already receiving positive reviews from critics, and he recently dropped the song “Hollywood LA”. Mensa plans to release his mixtape INNANETAPE soon.

4.) Ty Dolla $ign

If you combined Kirko Bangz with Future, you get Ty Dolla $ign. The LA rapper/singer already has a mixtape out called Beach House and he is currently signed to Atlantic Records. Since he is similar to Future, you can be sure to hear him on the radio soon. Thank God for autotune right? His new mixtape Beach House 2 drops July 1st.


3.) PartyNextDoor

Looks like we have another mysterious Canadian on our hands, and of course his talents got the attention of fellow Canadian Drake. PartyNextDoor is a singer who is slowly creating a buzz on the internet. Just like with The Weeknd, once Drake posted his song on his official blog, fans begin to investigate who is this mysterious singer. He is expected to release his debut mixtape on July 1st.

2.) Chance the Rapper

It seems as if this guy came out of nowhere! Chicago native, Chance the Rapper, is has created a big fan base and has impressed critics with his mixtape Acid Rap. Although the tape came out in the Spring, be prepared to hear Chance featured on many tracks coming soon.


1.) A$ap Ferg

As the second man to come out of the A$ap Mob, there is much pressure on A$ap Ferg following the success of lead man A$ap Rocky. Ferg is off to a good start with his hit “Work”, and with the star-studded “Work (remix)”, people now know that Ferg means business. His debut mixtape Trap Lord was scheduled to be release on Memorial Day, but it got pushed back to August.
